Help
Questions, answered
The questions people ask first. If yours is not here, write to support@botertrade.com.
Your account
How do I create an account?
Choose Get started, enter an email address, a username and a password, confirm that you are 18 or older and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. A code is sent to your email address to confirm it is yours.
I cannot sign in. What can I do?
On the sign-in screen, use the password reset link. A reset message is sent to the email address on the account. If the message does not arrive, check the spam folder, then write to support@botertrade.com from that address.
Why was I asked to accept the terms again?
When the Terms of Service or the Privacy Policy change, existing members are asked to read and accept the new version the next time they sign in.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Your password is asked for to confirm. The Privacy Policy describes what is deleted and when.
Using the desk
Is this real money?
New accounts practise on paper, which means simulated money. Every paper screen is labelled as paper, so it is always clear which kind of account you are looking at.
Does Botertrade tell me what to trade?
No. Botertrade is descriptive and educational software, not advice. Scores, labels and model figures are calculated from historical data and models. They describe what happened; they are not predictions, and nothing is guaranteed.
Where do I find help for one page of the app?
Each page of the app has its own help panel that explains what is on that page. The Products page on this site describes each tool in a few lines.
Data and community
Who can see my trades and my journal?
Each account has its own data store, separate from every other account. What you write in Community is different: posts there are shown to other members. The Privacy Policy sets out the details, and privacy questions go to privacy@botertrade.com.
How do I report a post in Community?
Every post has a Report control. Choose the reason and send it; the report goes to the people who run the service. For a copyright complaint, write to copyright@botertrade.com as the Terms of Service describe.
